It’s A Plastic World

The quest for that perfect skirt, that perfect dress and that perfect blazer is eternal but I recently stumbled upon a label that might be able to fulfill all these empty places in your heart. Cue: Plastic Island.
Launched in the US in 2007, it has a celebrity fan following of the likes of Rihanna, Kate Perry, Anne Hathaway and various others. Their preppy-edgy designs are what caught my eye and I love the fact that all the outfits are so simple yet brilliantly made. Here are my favorite picks:
The Gala Blazer
The Blazer: This blazer is absolute perfection. Why? The fit is perfect. It has just the right number of buttons. The shoulder pads are heavenly. And it is just the right length. *adore*
The Skirt: I have been looking for the perfect sequin skirt for ages and when I came across this one I knew it was meant to be. Have you ever bought a sequin skirt that seemed totally fab but fell apart the minute you put it on because it was so badly put together? Well, when I first saw this skirt online, that is what I thought. However, one I actually got it and put it on, it was a whole different case. The sequins do not keep falling off; it is very well made and it is super comfy.

I would definitely recommend this to those of you out there in the search for a good sequin skirt. Also, and this was a big factor for me, it is sequined but it isn’t “Ohmygod, WHY are you wearing headlights?!” shiny. The subtly shimmer is my favorite part of this skirt. It is more than worth it’s $127 price tag.
The Dress: This dress to me just screams “Blair Waldorf.” The cut is simply fantastic, the color combination is darling and it costs a lovely $167. Need I say more?
The Julia Two Timer Dress
The way also have some gorgeous tie and dye pieces in wonderful hues of blue, pink, black and white. Their high waisted skirts (ruched with a zipper in the front, tie and dye tulip skirt, studded) are majorly drool-worthy as well.
