Sticks & Stones Won’t Break My Bones.. But Shopping Might!
By Alexis J. February 4, 2010
While not all girls love to shop for clothes, when it comes to cosmetics, every girl loves to shop because out of the wide range of products there is always something or the other that they like. I know all my friends love going perfume/lipstick/eye-make up/ concealer/*name of product* shopping. So what is the point I am trying to make here?
Well, the other I went perfume shopping. And as I stepped into the shop, I realized that I had absolutely no clue as to which one I wanted. Did I want a Dior? Or maybe a Gucci? Would a Carolina Herrera be a safer bet? David Off has great perfumes, why not one of those? Calvin Klein’s latest perfume is supposedly fab, maybe I could get that?Yes, I had over 47382719 options and I just couldn’t make up my mind. And while browsing and trying out samples is fun, it is also tres confusing and leaves your with one too many options. So, alas, I went home empty handed. Which was when it struck me.
While almost every magazine and blog tell you about the latest perfumes or lip glosses or *name of product*, not all of them tell you what its like. So I decided to do a series called “The Review” right here at Models & Moguls so that all of you readers can have a slightly better idea of which isle to head for the next time you go cosmetic shopping. And no, “Sandalwood with a hint of lime, perfect for those who want a subtle but sexy perfume” is not what I call a review. I mean a real review from someone who isn’t getting paid to tell you guys how amazing this $200 perfume is.
So stay tuned to Models & Moguls for a monthly review of the latest in the cosmetics market.

This is wonderful! I only have one perfume at the moment (which was a gift 3 years ago), because going to the store to find one becomes such a chore. Thank you Alexis for offering some help to those of us who have gotten stuck with one scent, because the thought of looking for one or two more is painful. By the time I’ve sampled 3 scents, I find that my nose becomes confused, and I can’t tell what the perfume actually smells like.
